By: JUNIOR DAVIS

One of the main reason why I started this online magazine was because I wanted to showcase all types of new and undiscovered talents. Our latest spotlight fits the bill perfectly. David comes all the way from Germany. David took the time to sit down with us and talk about his music and his life.

JUNIOR: Name of Artist/Band? (Include all band members names and instruments played.)

DAVID: David Wide; Solo Artist

JUNIOR: Is your stage name trademarked?

DAVID: Yes!

JUNIOR: Have you filed your songs for copyright protection?

DAVID: Yes, all of them at the German Rock & Pop Community, some at my notar.

JUNIOR: Have any of your songs been published? (If so, by whom?)

DAVID: I am an independent musician. All done titles are published at my website: http://www.davidwide.com/ and at http://www.myspace.com/davidwide and at http://www.mosiq.com.

JUNIOR: Have you affiliated with a performance rights organization? (which one? ASCAP, BMI, SESAC?)

DAVID: I dont think so.

JUNIOR: What is your background? {Who are you and/or your bandmembers? Tell your story.)

DAVID: I started 10 play the piano with 6 years and had a 8 year classical education. My favourite Composer was Chopin especially the waltz. | stopped the lesson when I was 14 years old and began to compose music myself. Also I started up a band, which I accompanied not that long as I moved to the states. Beside living in Massachusetts and New Jersey I was lving in Spain, Switzerland and Portugal. I had some gigs most of them as a solo artist. Beside the music, I learned the Hotel- and Tourism business, which I quit 2 years ago to have enough time for ine music.

JUNIOR: Why do you want to record and release your own music? (Be very honest)

DAVID: Music is my life, for myself the best way to express my feelings and communicate with the world. Music touches everyone.

JUNIOR: Do you write your own songs? (Discuss the songwriting process in detail.)

DAVID: I only write my own music. Music is rising out of my moods: Anger, sadness, happiness. Most of the time I begin at the piano to get a melody and then go over to the other sounds. Some of my Songs begin with a drum loop and then I create the rest. There is no formula I use; sometimes I have a melody in my mind the other time I am just improvising. It´ s like a flow between my mind, heart and my soul

JUNIOR: What image do you think your music conveys? ( Do not avoid the image issue!)

DAVID: My music is instrumental and its very difficult tell you what kind of style it is. People keep telling me, that I found my own style. For sure it´ s good music to chill out and what is important to make people think of many things. The music is good for films as well.

JUNIOR: What are your immediate musie career goals? (Next 1 to 3 years.)

DAVID: Hehe, just continuing doing music and hoping that I can make my living with it. I have written more than 150 songs. Right now I am working on my album Perfect Communication that I hope will be done in Summer. Right afterwards I am going to finish my album Promises, that is planned for fall. Of course many other things to do as an independent. The administration of my music, the promotion which takes most of the time right now. So my greatest goal is to have more time for the music ;-)

JUNIOR: Do you have a business license? (City, state, federal?)

DAVID: I have a Label which is named Fine Spirit Entertainment.

JUNIOR: What is your current business form? (Sole proprietor? Corporation? Partners?)

DAVID: I am a sole proprietor.

JUNIOR: Have you set up a system for tracking your financial activities? (Software system?)

DAVID: No, its all hand-made.

JUNIOR: Have you created an actual career, marketing, or business plan? (Is it in writing?)

DAVID: I hope to find someone who can help me to distribute my music in USA and other countries. The only way you can purchase my music right now is through my mp3 shop http://www.davidwide.com/shop But a I have a lot of younger fans, they don't have the possibilty to download Ihe music there, as they dont have a credit card or a bank account.

JUNIOR: Who handles your daily business activities? (Bookings, promotions etc.)

DAVID: I do.

JUNIOR: Thanks for taking the time for this online Interview: Look forward to hearing from you.
